Iván Dariel Ortíz

Producer / Director / Writer

Iván Dariel Ortiz is a Puerto Rican filmmaker with a distinguished career as a director and editor of feature films and other film projects. He directed and produced the feature films Héroes de Otra Patria and El Cimarrón, both of which received awards at international film festivals.

In 1999, Héroes de Otra Patria was selected as Puerto Rico’s submission to the prestigious Academy Awards. In 2000, the Lincoln Center Film Society selected it as one of the Best Latin American Films of the year. El Cimarrón made history in Puerto Rican cinema as the first film shot and exhibited in high definition. The film won awards at several film festivals, including those in Chicago, Chile, Spain, and Puerto Rico.

As a director and editor, he has focused his career on crafting stories with powerful visual and auditory impact. As a writer, his perspective on social issues is profound and always an integral part of his work. De Tal Palo is a strong example of Iván Dariel’s vision, style, and values, and reflects his importance within the Caribbean film industry.

María Del Carmen Fullana

Executive Producer

With more than 35 years of experience as an executive producer for projects in Puerto Rico with reach into the U.S. Hispanic market, María del Carmen possesses extensive knowledge of film production as well as a long career in the advertising industry. In her roles within the audiovisual sector, she has skillfully applied her specialized training in social research and psychology. She has served as executive producer on nearly 50 films aimed at both children and adults that address contemporary social issues in Puerto Rico and function as valuable tools for the prevention of mental health problems. Her professional and personal achievements have been recognized in Puerto Rico by numerous professional, business, and philanthropic organizations.
